About

If you were going to program a simulation - a Universe that appeared real to the creatures living in it - how would you do it?
How would you ensure that your creation could run continuously without the need for constant intervention?
In a simulated world, what would stand behind cause and effect?
What if numbers are the programming language for the Universe we live in?
What if numbers aren’t abstract representations of forces at work but are the forces?
Does that sound far fetched? More improbable than a Creator who has always existed from the dawn of time? More improbable than a Universe which has either always existed or somehow spontaneously came to exist?
My name is Terry Kinder and I have been studying numbers for over a decade now. The journey began around the time of the Great Recession. Economics became interesting during that crisis. From technical analysis to cycles and from esoteric texts to analyzing political polls, I have been chasing numbers. But before that, even as a poor math student, I saw the world through numbers.
Things haven’t changed much except the interest has grown deeper and the application is much broader.
Some of the posts here will be more abstract and theoretical, but much of the discussion will focus on real-world numbers - whether looking at the COVID-19 pandemic, examining political polls, or taking a look at the stock markets or commodities. Numbers are numbers. They “behave”, for lack of a better way of putting it, the same whether we’re discussing the price of gold or the death toll from a pandemic. The rules are the same.
You may or may not be willing to go the whole way on this journey of looking at and understanding numbers, but I promise it will be interesting.
